  • Families and their children meet in the additional parking lot of our local McDonald's who participate as a sponsor of this event providing a free breakfast to every participating child. The Lealman, FL Fire District is our main sponsor. They bring their fire trucks and along with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Dept. They help coordinate a safe route for the staff, students and families to make their way to the school walking on the morning of the event. They also provide banners for the children to carry promoting pedestrian and bicycle safety for students as well as safety buttons with flashing lights and additional safety items. Families are encouraged to talk with their children about how to walk or ride safely to school including wearing a helmet while biking. Participants are also encouraged to note any safety concerns during their travels to school.
